In the wake of far too many acts of violence against schools in our nation, Jay County School Corp’s superintendent Jeremy Gulley, put a plan in place to keep his students and staff safe. The weapons detection system of choice was BallistiSCAN.
BallistiSCAN is a perfect solution for a school setting due to its stealth presence. The entire system consists of two hockey-puck sized detectors and a laptop computer. Students are able to be scanned for weapons without having to remove their jackets and backpacks and since there are no cumbersome, daunting archways with the BallistiSCAN system, students enter the school building and it still feels like they are entering a school and not a detention center.
