BALLISTIGLASS is a licensed manufacturer of “Safety Plus II” impact glass. BallistiGUARD is the BALLISTIGLASS tradename for “Safety Plus II” type impact glass. When choosing impact glass to protect your facility, it is important to understand that not all impact glass is made the same way.

Most foreign companies use the least expensive autoclave-based method to produce PVB laminated glass. PVB is a molecule that binds glass when it is subjected to high pressure and heat in a room-sized autoclave. This inferior method often results in a product that will delaminate within a few years and force a costly replacement process. Not only is delamination unattractive, it is also potentially dangerous due to a catastrophic failure of the glass when you need it the most.

In stark contrast, BALLISTIGLASS produces BallistiGUARD using a twenty first century advanced chemistry resin. Our resin binds the layers of BallistiGUARD with incredible strength that actually gets stronger over the years. BallistiGUARD will not delaminate, will not discolor, and will not fail.

If you need the strongest, most reliable impact glass, the choice is clear. Choose BallistiGUARD.

The BallistiGUARD product is made up of two identical panels of tempered glass that have been laminated together using the Safety Plus II method.

Impact glass made using the Safety Plus II method is far superior to all other methods used in the industry in terms of strength, durability and appearance.

For example, BallistiGUARD can withstand windstorm speeds up to a calculated 367 MPH. The pressure cycling test reached 338 psf before failure. For comparison, the industry standards are 156 MPH and 60 psf, respectively. BallistiGUARD is also impervious to the damaging effects of water as well as other forms of environmental degradation.

  • Strongest and most reliable impact glass available today
  • Strong enough to resist a calculated 362 mph wind
  • Has a notice of acceptance & approved by Miami Dade’s most stringent High Velocity Hurricane Zone requirements
  • Passes large missile test in virtually all thicknesses of monolithic and insulating glass (annealed, heat-strengthened and tempered)
  • Very high design pressures can be achieved as tempered glass can now be used
  • Has both UV stabilizer and 99.9% UV blocker (unlike UV curing resins)
  • Compatible with all high-performance glass coatings
  • Ultraviolet stabilizer blocks over 99.9% of UV light
  • Polylam interlayer is resistant to delamination & yellowing that can occur with PVB-laminated glass
  • Proudly made in the U.S.A.
  • Available in 3 thicknesses:
    • 5/16” = 3.75 lbs/sq ft
    • 7/16” = 5.33 lbs/sq ft
    • 9/16” = 7 lbs/sq ft
  • 9/16” is the most common and is often referred to as 1/2”
  • Measurements as Height and Width (HxW) in inches
  • Maximum allowable dimension (Height or Width) is 120”
  • Default is clear, tempered glass
  • Strengthened options: tempered, hardened
  • Color options: clear, tint, mirrored
  • Default glass treatment is seamed edges (sharp edges removed)
  • NOTE: if non-clear option is chosen, only one of the two panels will be tinted or mirrored (otherwise it would be too dark to see through)
  • Shipping options available; Lead time is 3 weeks
