Why retrofit
New buildings are rare. Existing ones are everywhere.
Most of the schools and congregations we meet with cannot tear out their classroom doors and start over. The RetroKIT exists for that reality. It brings an existing opening up to a ballistic rating without replacing the door or the frame.
Our specifications team measures the opening, the kit is cut to match, and our associates install it. A typical school can work through a wing of classrooms without disrupting the academic calendar.
Where it's installed
Parkland sanctuary, classroom doors, office interiors.
The RetroKIT installed at Temple Kol Tikvah protects the sanctuary entry doors without changing the appearance of the congregation's building. Classroom retrofits in the school systems we work with follow the same approach: the teacher walks back into the same room the next morning; the door is rated.
